Middle/Upper School
As educators, we recognize that adolescents are experiencing rapid growth intellectually, physically and socially. Administrators, teachers and parents work together in order to provide a safe atmosphere of learning, at home or at school, where students are encouraged to take risk for an outcome of success. The program accommodates students at different levels of maturity and includes a balance of teacher-structured and student-initiated activities.
The rigorous curriculum focuses on basic skills, individual creativity, a disciplined manner of inquiry, and good study habits. Students who qualify may participate in the accelerated program and graduate early.
The High School offers an intellectually challenging college preparatory program which encourages students to strive for academic excellence and to use their education for the betterment of the community at large. High school students who plan to pursue a traditional college education will enroll in the A Beka Program that prepares students for the most competitive universities. Students who desire to enter the workforce or pursue a technical degree following high school will choose a career path that integrates further academic work with intensive technical and work-based learning. The workforce skills curriculum will be designed and implemented in partnership with national and local business, ensuring that students will be trained to the highest skill standards and will gain a credential that is valued by employers.
Middle and High School students have communication and leadership training as part of their curriculum. Through the support and accountability of teachers, parents, students and community connected with the school, students will succeed and no student will be allowed to fail.
International Studies and Exchange Program A well rounded education includes International Studies. As a result, the curriculum allows students to appreciate and gain knowledge of other cultures through the exchange program. Students will partner with schools in different regions and countries according to their grade.
Middle school students partner with schools in different regions of the United States and high school students partner with schools in selected countries. In the spring of each year, the students visit the schools they have partnered with throughout the academic school year for ten days. Seniors partner with a school in another country and exchange with those students for four weeks.
